The fashion industry can often be stressful and time consuming, and it's easy to become so wrapped up in what's 'in' and what's 'out' that we forget to take notice of our own surroundings- let alone what's happening in the rest of the world. FEP introduces 3 amazing organizations: 'Toni Garrn Foundation', 'Beauty for Freedom' and 'UN Women', showing how they can be a source of inspiration to create your next collection. Our dream is to transform lives of women and girls globally while empowering you to make a difference by putting your skills to good use. Through selling fashion related products and holding events, FEP works to encourage the fashion community to raise crucial funds for these charities.
Giselle was born and raised in London, before moving to New York City in 2006 to get her BFA in Fashion Design from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Since then, she has honed her design skills by working in fashion houses such as Narciso Rodriguez, Calvin Klein, Marchesa, and Ralph Lauren.
Dedicated to supporting women and girls globally, she has served on the Board of Directors and co-chaired the UN Women's Metro NY Chapter, and is also a GenR member of the International Rescue Committee. Volunteer trips to South Africa and Tanzania encouraged her to gain a better understanding of the world, by pursuing a Graduates Diploma in International Development from the University of London.
The fashionEmpowerment project is a way to combine her interests in philanthropy and design, in the hopes that fashion can continue to contribute to humanitarian and development aid.
